About Me – Life outside budgeting

Hello and welcome! If there is one thing I’ve learned over the years, it is that time truly flies, but every stage of life brings its own unique magic. I am a proud parent to two grown-up children and an absolutely doting grandparent to my wonderful grandchildren. For me, family is everything, and spending time with my loved ones is the anchor that keeps me grounded.

But when I am not on grandparent duty, my days are filled with an eclectic mix of hobbies and passions!

My Furry Family

No personal story about me would be complete without paying tribute to the loyal companions who have been the beating heart of my home. Over the years, I’ve had five wonderful dogs whom I’ve adored and who became absolute centres to my life. They weren’t just pets; they were an integral part of our family, teaching me so much about patience, unconditional love, and the joy of simple moments. Though they may run through different fields now, their paw prints remain forever etched on my heart.

Behind the Lens

Photography has always been my great escape and joy. I even run a local photography club, which is fantastic for meeting like-minded people. I love nothing more than exploring the length and breadth of the UK with my camera. From the mystical ruins of Glastonbury and Stonehenge to the intriguing atmosphere of Alderley Edge, I am drawn to ancient, sacred sites.

My heart belongs to the great outdoors. Whether I’m framing a sweeping landscape or quietly waiting to capture local wildlife and nature in their element, there is nowhere else I’d rather be.

Creativity, Crafts, and Community

I’ve always been a creative soul. I really enjoy diving into various crafts, and my thirst for learning has taken me to several college courses over the years. I’ve explored everything from pottery to aromatherapy!

My tech journey actually started years ago when my kids were in school. I taught myself computing on an old machine, and I found I had a real knack for it. That early spark grew into a genuine love for digital problem-solving.

That love for connecting with people spills over into my part-time job at the local library. I genuinely enjoy the customer service side of things, helping patrons, and being a familiar, helpful face in our community.

Adventuring in Azeroth

When the sun goes down and the cameras are put away, you will likely find me logging into World of Warcraft. I’ve been gaming for years, and wargaming in Azeroth is my favourite way to unwind. Whether I am exploring new storylines or taking on dungeons, it is a fun, immersive world where I get to relax and challenge myself.
