🟒 Real-life budgeting in the UK

SimpleBudgetUK is a practical blog focused on saving money on a low income in the UK.

πŸ‘‰ No complicated systems β€” just simple changes that actually work.

Everything shared here is based on real life, real spending, and real results.

🟒 Why you can trust this blog

I manage my money on an income slightly below the UK State Pension while working part-time.

Like many people, I balance:

  • Bills
  • Food costs
  • Everyday spending

πŸ‘‰ What I share is based on real decisions β€” not theory.

🟒 About me

I’m a mum to two grown-up children and a grandparent to three grandchildren.

Family life is one of the reasons I focus on making money go further without cutting out what matters.

Nature, animals & simple living

I’ve had five dogs over the years and still build my life around being able to include them.

I’m also a member of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) and I’m turning my garden into a small wildlife-friendly space.

πŸ‘‰ Simple living and nature are a big part of how I approach budgeting.

🟒 Life outside budgeting

I enjoy photography and started a local photography club around 15 years ago, which is still running today.

I also enjoy exploring the UK, especially places like:

  • Bempton Cliffs
  • Pembrokeshire
  • Glastonbury
  • Walking the Ribble Way
  • Climbing Snowdon
